Alex initially came to the winery part-time at the age of 19, by way of his brother, to assist in
bottling the 2002 vintage. The following harvest he worked intermittently during breaks from college.
After two years at the University of Washington, he decide to break from his studies and work the
duration of the 2005 harvest. His admiration of science brought him to discover that winemaking was
the quintessential synthesis of science and art. The passion for this newly unveiled profession inspired
him to leave home for California State University, Fresno to earn his B.S. in Enology. His studies took
him to winemaking regions all over the west coast and Europe.
As a Snohomish native, he returned home to begin his career where he grew up; he was hired as Assistant Winemaker
at Quilceda Creek at the start of 2009. Sharing the same devotion to family and winemaking makes Quilceda
Creek the perfect fit.
Alex married his high school sweetheart, Katie, and together they have a son, Charles.
