Drink Now - 2010
The 1990 Cabernet, while similar in vineyard composition to the 1989, reflects the
softer character of the 1990 vintage. It is drinking excellently now, with intense
aromas and flavors of chocolate, violets and black cherries.
1990 Cabernet Sauvignon
“Make no mistake about the Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignons –
they are world-class Cabernets that compete with the finest wines
from Bordeaux, Napa Valley, Sonoma and Santa Cruz Mounts.
The regular bottling in both the 1989 and 1990 are deep,
rich, full-bodied wines with staurated colors and copious
amounts of sweet cassis fruit intelligently married with
toasty new oak. They are ripe, concentrated, graceful and
harmonious. Th acid, tannin, and alcohol are well-integrated
in both offerings. The 1990 is slightly more open.”
Robert M. Parker Jr.'s, Wine Advocate
12-20-93
"Tight and firm, with a cedary aroma and ripe currant, toast
and berry flavors on the palate. Elegant and well balanced,
drinking well now but with depth and intensity to carry it
through the decade. Best from 1996 to 2000. 925 cases made."
