1992 Cabernet Sauvignon Washington

Wine Spectator Reviews

"Dense, rich and dynamic, packed with mouth-filling blackberry, currant and blueberry flavors that are supported by hints of anise and sweet spices. A glorious melange of flavors that shows both substance and subtlety. Needs until 2002 to 2005. 950 cases made."

Cellar Selections, The Wine Spectator

"Washington has been making some great Cabernets, most of them spicy, oak-elevated style. Not Quilceda Creek, which packs its dense, sturdy wines with breathtakingly pure fruit flavors. 950 cases made."

1992 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

International Wine Cellar Reviews

"Ruby-red. Fabulous, very ripe aromas of black cherry, lead pencil, mint, herbs and toast. Thick, dense fruit is less expressive that the above (1992 Cabernet Sauvignon), but there is even more size and fat here, and the same improbably focus. Finishes with terrific grip and urgent, explosive black fruit flavor. As with the above (1992 Cabernet Sauvignon), the firm tannins are buried in fruit. This estate must be considered among the handful of America’s elite cabernet producers. " Score 93(+).

"Black fruit and shoe polish aromas. Intensely flavored, vibrant crushed berry fruit is almost painfully vivid today, with bracing acidity giving the wine razor-sharp focus. But this is dense and ripe, with great purity of fruit and hidden density. A real fruit bomb which can be enjoyed now but probably should be cellared for several years. " Score 92

Wine Spectator Review

"Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve from Washington is a monumental wine possessing loads of fruit, tannic support and personality. Its 95-point rating, $49.00 price tag and 150-case production will undoubtedly garner this block-buster cult status. Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Reserves spills over with wild berry and current flavors, formidable enough to rate 95 point, the top wine in this report.

A titanic wine, packed with flavor and built to age gracefully. Firm and chewy at first, it bristles with blackberry, black cherry and coffee flavors that build up momentum through the sold finish. Tannins are firm, but integrated. Best to age until 2000 or 2003." 150 cases made. Score: 95 Highly recommended
