The 2000 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon is reminiscent of the '98 Quilceda Creek but on
steroids. This wine is packed full of blackberry liqueur, plums, and crème de cassis
laden with anise, smoke and Asian spices. It has a fabulous syrupy texture, show-casing the
amazing purity of cabernet fruit found in this wine. It is the most perfumed and
well-balanced Quilceda Creek wine to date.
2000 Cabernet Sauvignon
Bright medium ruby. Aromas of crystalized dark berries, tobacco, mocha, peat,
graphite and smoky, spicy oak. Very rich and dense but not overly sweet, with strong
oak notes of spice and chocolate along with suggestions of pipe tobacco and fresh herbs.
Finishes with ripe, chocolately tannins and excellent length.

The dark ruby-colored 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon has a nose reminiscent of a
blackberry-flavored Yoplait yogurt laced with roasted oak and hints of licorice.
A full-bodied wine of power and structure, it is crammed with black currants,
blackberries, and spices. Its dense fruit is matched blow for blow with a
muscular, firm structure. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2020. Score: 94+
Pierre-Antoine Rovani, Robert M. Parker, Jr.s Wine Advocate
Announces itself as a serious red from the first whiff of earthy, smoky notes
weaving through the licorice-scented dark berry flavors. This firm, chewy wine
expands on the long finish under a layer of fine-grained tannins, holding it
all together seamlessly. It begs for time in the cellar to develop.
Best after 2006. 2,925 cases made. Score: 93
Harvey Steiman, The Wine Spectator
This taste black as woodland berries, black as grapes ripened in the soils of
Red Mountain. It's a dynamic cabernet, the flavors growing our of the Columbia
Valley earth, its power in perfect balance so the intensity of the wine is
wed with grace. The black spice of the tannin carries an electric charge,
as does the vibrant sweetness of the fruit, woven together in a warm flavor
that continues buzzing for minutes after each taste. The wine's alcohol seems to
act as a connector, as an extender, a power to carry all the zesty riches of
the fruit. One of Washington's greats, from the nephew of
Andre Tchelistcheff. (2,925 cases)
