Paul Golitzin, Director of Winemaking, comments:

The 2014 Quilceda Creek "CVR" Columbia Valley Red Wine is a Bordeaux-styled wine filled with satisfying layers of black and red fruits, smoke, spice and minerals. The "CVR" is an exciting preview into the 2014's which are historic wines in the making. This blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec was aged 20 months in 100% French oak. Approachable now, this wine will best be enjoyed over the next 15 years.

International Wine Report Review

"Possessing an inky purple color, this gorgeous wine is a declassified blend of [76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec] that was sourced from the Champoux, Tapteil, Wallula Gap and Palengat vineyards. Opening with a bouquet of anise, crème de cassis, dark chocolate shavings, and suggestions of Turkish coffee all coming together to form the intoxicating aromatics. Showing remarkable poise on the mid-palate and finish, the wine has deep flavors of coffee grounds, black tea, crème de cassis, and a graphite edge. Overall, the 2014 is one of the more compelling examples of this blend made. If approaching in its youth be sure to allow for some air contact for it to best express itself. (Best 2016-2027)"
