The Columbia Valley Red Wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot
from young and established vineyards that did not meet our stringent requirements for
our ultra-premium wines.
The 1999 Columbia Valley Red Wine has a broad, complex range of flavors. Intense black
cherries and minerals backed by cedar, smoke and spice cascade across the tasters
palate. It is a medium-bodied wine with nice grip and sweetness to the fruit.
Drink it over the next 10 years.
1999 Red Table Wine
Quilcedas second wine, a Bordeaux blend based on
82% cabernet sauvignon): Medium-deep red. Currant, tar and minty nuance on the nose.
Smooth and lush but a bit featureless, with moderately ripe flavors of black raspberry
and game. Nicely concentrated but somewhat angular wine, finishing with dusty, slightly
drying tannins.
Score: 88

Quilceda Creeks second wine, known simply as Red Wine, is crafted from fruit and
barrels declassified from the winerys top bottlings (fully 35% of the production was
declassified in 1999). One thousand cases of the medium to dark ruby-colored 1999 Red
Wine were produced. It reveals lovely aromatics of black fruits, roasted spices and
hints of asphalt. Medium-bodied, broad, and lush, it is a thick, expansive wine candied
blackberries and spices. Projected maturity: now-2010.
