The 2001 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Red Wine is our best offering of this wine to date. It has an
atypically high-percentage of Merlot and new French oak giving the wine huge aromas and flavors of
black cherries, spice, marzipan, and smoke. This hedonistic wine offers great value and pleasure for
the more occasional drink over the next 7-10 years.
2001 Columbia Valley Red
Bright red-ruby. Aromas of smoky, roasted red and black fruits. Sweet,
broad and lush; really dusts the palate with black fruit, graphite and
mineral flavors. Gives an impression of high pH, like the 2000, but this
shows stronger raw material and sweeter, finer tannins.

Quilceda's second label is a gorgeous wine, supple and sweet with lovely
cabernet cassis and smooth hints of licorice and chocolate. Though not as
concentrated as the cabernet, it is immediately delicious, and would put to
shame most wines in its price category.
