1997 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Red Table Wine
Paul Golitzin, Director of Winemaking, comments:
The Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Red Wine is a blend of lots from young vineyards. The Cabernet Sauvignon is from an established vineyard that did not meet our increasingly stringent requirements for our Cabernet and Cabernet Franc. The Merlot grapes are from old vineyards that were in excess of what we wanted to blend into our ultra-premium wines.
The Red Wine has the aromas of cherries, almonds, vanilla and spice with the corresponding flavors carrying through on the palate. It is a classy medium-bodied wine to drink now and over the next several years and represents an excellent value in today’s wine market.
73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, and 21% Cabernet Franc
Champoux, Ciel du Cheval, Kiona, Klipsun, and Tapteil
100% French Oak
